14 of 365 01/14/2013 With Hearts. Cory Staudacher. Read this interview on This is one seriously talented guy! I came to him in the planning phase of this project and he not only helped me come up with the name Shoot the Skies but helped me design the website! He truly has played a huge role in the beginning planning stages of this project and I’m so thankful for his friendship, design and creative input. He has become a household name on Instagram, in 2012 he had over 175,000 people follow him. This is a 45 photo 50mm f1.4 brenizer photostitch. Follow his Twitter & Instagram Follow his Blog Check out his site Without further adieu, I give you WithHearts Who are you? My name is Cory Staudacher I’m a creative director & designer for Davasso design studio ( a Seattle-based web design shop where we focus on building clean & simple websites. Where do you come from? I was born & raised in the Seattle area. What is your profession? I’m a problem solver & pixel pusher. Why do you wake up every morning? I love making things more useful & look better. Also for my morning cup of (Stumptown) coffee. What or who do you get inspiration from? I try to not stay in a creative bubble but look to other creative circles to get inspired. Lately getting surrounded by photographers has grown my eye for detail & color. Why do you feel addressing the issue of human trafficking is important? I feel strongly that people’s eyes need to be opened to the issue of sex trafficking not only abroad but in their very backyards. Seattle is one of the main cities for sex trafficking and seeing as websites like are used to do the trading really makes a web designer like myself sad that a resource like the Internet is used in that way! How do you feel graphic design can be used as a tool to fight human trafficking? Anything that produces resources & material can be used to help fight. Design is just one area that can create relevant material to raise more awareness. What makes you want to give your time and energy to a cause like A21? Why does it matter to you? A21 is not only spreading information about the issue but they are going into the major cities and building relationship with the city to see the abuse of young women & children stopped for good. It’s a cause that speaks not only in word but in action. What would you like to see happen this year in your professional circle regarding human trafficking or any other social issues? I want to see the design community raise more awareness for human trafficking & other social justice issues by donating their time to creating more relevant material & resources. What do you do with your free time (assuming you have any)? I’m really into Instagram (@withhearts) a photo sharing iPhone app that gives me a creative outlet to mess around with photography. I also love to use Tumblr to post inspiration & music, you can follow me at If you could give to us one compelling, concluding thought, what would it be? “The only way to do great work is to love what you do.
