posted by Himanshu Agrawal alias Himanshu (Mumbai, India) on Tuesday 3rd of November 2020 08:03:14 PM Designed: September 2020 The origami pram was designed for the recent project, however, I decided to do something different with the photograph. When I was doing post-graduation, we used to study cinema as a rich source of cultural and social commentary while learning how to express nuances and tones through the craft of filmmaking. Prof. Matthew's ardour for parallel cinema classics got me hooked as well. Films like Umberto D, The Shop on Main Street, Dekalog, Woman in the Dunes and many others were a staple. I miss those days, those sessions, those discussions. So, in memory of those lessons, here is my humble homage to Eisenstein's iconic Odessa steps scene from Battleship Potemkin. Of course, it was a propaganda film and I am not making a comment about its message. His powerful visuals were so extraordinary that filmmakers try to emulate, parody and mimic his style even today. This is the fourth in the series and there are four more designs in the series. However, my current commitments will not allow me to do any justice to the rest. So I end this series for now. Will post something new soon.
