Lisette accompanies us on our boating outing to document the current beauty of the Florida Keys, in case the oil spill causes damage. We are all hoping for a miracle. Lisette seemed to understand the seriousness of our mission. Her mood was very different this past week-end. The weather was glorious and clear, many still water moments, a wonderful gift. We love our fragile Florida Keys environment, with blue skies, sunny days, clear Bay and ocean waters, seagrass, manatees which come right up to our dock, dolphins, fish, birds, ya da ya da. Photo in second comment below has more info about the oil spill problem. See my set:, documenting photos of the beauty here before the oil spill effects reach us. Please send your best healing energies to the earth here, hoping there will be no "after" pictures. Please come viist Florida, and enjoy its beauty. The oil spill is not affecting us right now, and hopefully will never. For those interested, more info on all sorts of things about the oil spill, news reports, things to do, photo documentation in this Flickr group: Gulf of Mexico Wildlife- Before the Oil Spill And the National Park Service gives much information on all that has been and might be affected, ways to help, up-dates on what is being done here: The US Dept. of the Interior has great up to the minute reporting, with ways to report any damage observed, how to get them your ideas of any technology of what might help, a summary of all the sates and areas affected, how to volunteer help, or vessels, etc.—here: Obviously no one knows how to fix this mess right now, but if we all pull our resources, and spread the word, I believe in the power of our human community to accomplish great things. Please spread the word to all you can, if you are willing. Open to all critiques of this and all my photo-- I want to learn more and really welcome criticla feedback. ORiginal, with only slight exposure enhancement, posted in first comment below. Can't decide which version I like better. I like the guard rail, as it's parallel with LIsette's face, and it tells more of the story, but I also find it to be a distraction for the eye-- so can't figure out which version works best. I chose this one. And good news. Two of my dog photos were accepted into a juried art gallery exhibit in Groton, New York, at the Main Street Gallery, and are posted also in the first comment below. I am so honored and thrilled, but now am also busy with printing, framing and shipping. They are going to be limited editions of 30, so if anyone else wants to buy any, let me know soon through Flickr mail or through the gallery. (Info on my profile page also.) My puppy Jake is feeling better- sick again, but more vet visits, medication, TLC, etc. I watch him like a hawk-- he almost never eats anything other than dog food. Once comfortis set off his stomach and digestive track. I think maybe our stress this past week-end added to the problem this time. No more dog parks for awhile, even though he's good at playing and focuses on thedogs, not on eating stuff. Only filtered water and his dog food for now. Taken 5/8/10, Uploaded 5/10/10, # 4927, was SOOC with slight Exposure adjustment, but then in this version I decided to erase the boat guard rail To view large in Windows Vista Internet Explorer, click Control + a few times, and then Control 0 to return to normal view. Other operating systems and browsers usually have a magnification control, often on the lower right. If you wish, view "my own favorites" of my photostream.
