I am a real outdoor person, so it is harder for me to be stuck indoor. Many of my friends are trying to explain me that take it easy, it is just bad time. Well, I am big enough to know that. Still it doesn't change the fact that outdoor activities and photography are my only entertainment in life. I am not into alcohol, smoking, partying, discoing, gossiping and all other so called normal stuff. So it is more harder for me than others who can fall back to something else. But it is hard to explain! In Switzerland there is not much restriction. So I could easily go out. However, the authority is pleading everyone of stay home. Billions of Francs are getting pumped into economy to support the situation. Medicals staffs, the grocery store staffs, post, custom, police, military are taking life risk everyday to make things better. I have no right to be macho and go out not following all those warnings for my entertainment. So I feel I am doing my bit by staying home. Stuck in home, a bit frustrated, I was going through my old images of Zermatt region and found this one. I processed some of them before. But I did few of those panoramas. So as a time pass I processed another one. So here it comes. This is the now popular lake Stellisee. No doubt this is my favorite region of Switzerland. In recent years this lake had gained lots of popularity. However, 7 years back when this picture was taken, it was not that popular and much less tourists used to go there. Which was not necessarily a bad thing as the place used to remain less crowded. Specially at the evening after the departure of the last gondola lift. From composition perspective; it is a typical image done by many others. I was lucky to get a gorgeous sky. I actually wake up around 3:30 AM and took some photographs of the night sky with star. Then did wonder around a bit. It was cold and a bit windy; so I was a bit worried about having the reflection. It was a magical atmosphere which I enjoyed deeply. At around 5:30 AM when the light started to come; I saw all those cloud above Matterhorn. It was an exiting moment. I knew it would be a special sunrise. So I setup my camera at the right place well ahead of time and waited for the right moment. Initially I wanted to do a much tighter composition where the image starts little bit left of the big rock on the left and ends just after the background snow picks on the right. But the gorgeous sky color kind of driven me to make a much wider composition. Although I did one with the initial thought as well. But I started with this. Stay safe, comply with the authority strictly, stay at home, stop the chain of the virus. Take care and help the society to recover from the crisis. Please have a look at my website for all my recent works. Have a nice weekend. Hope you will enjoy the picture. Any suggestions or criticisms are always welcome.
