The Woodrow Wilson Boyhood Home stands at 419 7th Street. Built in 1859, it was a childhood home of Woodrow Wilson (1856–1924), the 28th president of the United States and proponent of the League of Nations. The house is owned and operated by Historic Augusta, Inc., and was placed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1979. It was designated a National Historic Landmark in 2008. Information from: Founded in 1736 by James Oglethorpe, and named for Princess Augusta of Saxe-Gotha, Georgia's third largest city is home to roughly 202,000 people (in 2020). Augusta serves as the seat of Richmond County, which has mostly consolidated its government with that of the municipality of Augusta.
