This is a pic of me that I scribbled at work one morning. Tagged by BottledBarbie. Rules: Once you've been tagged, you are supposed to write a note with 25 random things, facts, habits, or goals about you. At the end, choose some people to be tagged. 1) I'm left-handed. 2) I moved a lot when I was a kid. I've lived (in no particular order) in Eden, NY; Boston, NY; Orchard Park, NY; Clinton, TN (near Knoxville); Jacksonville, FL; Arnold, MO (near St. Louis); Independence, MO (near Kansas City); and Orlando, FL. I lived in Eden multiple times between some of those. All that was before high school. Halfway through 8th grade, we moved to Eden for the last time and I've been here ever since, except for when I was getting my degrees. 3) I have three degrees. I did my undergrad work at Hamilton College near Utica, NY. My BA is in Classical Studies. My first Masters is in Egyptology (under Art History) and I got that at the University of Memphis. My second Masters is in Museum Studies and I got that at NYU. 4) Even though I have all those, I work at the Olive Garden. Thank you, economy, for the shitty job market. But I make a high hourly rate, so I'm not switching jobs until I find one in my field. 5) I'm obsessed with two things: reading and dolls. I have even more books than dolls if you can imagine that. 6) I love comic books, although I stopped reading a lot of titles. No more superhero stuff really. I still enjoy the superhero movies though! 7) I love mythology of all kinds and that's one of my favorite topics to read about. 8) I love stuffed animals and always sleep with one or more. 9) I grew up in the 80s and I love all things 80s. My childhood loves were Jem, She-Ra, Rainbow Brite, Rose Petal Place, Muppet Babies, Smurfs, Snorks, He-Man, Real Ghostbusters, Thundercats, Transformers, GI Joe, Strawberry Shortcake, Star Fairies, Disney, Barbie, Wonder Woman, Ewoks (and Yoda and Chewie), Popples, Zoobilee Zoo, Lady Lovelylocks, Electric Company, Square One, Heathcliff, Garfield, Today's Special, Sesame Street, Mr. Rogers, Fraggle Rock, My Little Pony, Care Bears, Get Along Gang, and probably a lot more I'm forgetting. 10) I still liked shows for kids when I was older. My faves were Ghostwriter (began in 1992) and Puzzle Place (1995). I also loved Power Rangers in 1993, but got bored with it after awhile. 11) I love to write, but don't have much time to do it. Which saddens me. 12) I got into the goth scene around 1997. I'd never danced before, but I fell in love with both the music they played at the club and with dancing itself. Apparently, I'm quite good at it. I get complimented a lot. I don't like structured dancing, like ballroom and ballet. I just like to do what the music tells me. 13) I love the German language and a lot of my favorite bands, like Eisbrecher and Das Ich, sing in German. 14) I'm not huge on concerts, but I've seen a lot of my fave bands. And even met some of them! Steve Naghavi (frontman for And One) gave me a kiss on the forehead during the band's performance in NYC. *swoon* 15) I love 80s fantasy movies and wish there was more merchandise for them. I really want a doll or action figure of Dark Lily from Legend. 16) Despite having done a lot of it, I'm terrified of flying. I don't know if I could make myself get on a plane again. The last time I flew was from Buffalo back to NYC and that was right before the plane crash in the Hudson River and the horrible Flight 3407 crash in Buffalo was the next month. 17) I don't like the outdoors all that much. I dislike bugs biting me or just flying around my head. I'm definitely not a camping or woodsy sort of girl, although I do like the beach a lot. 18) I'm not particularly athletic, but I kick ass at badminton and floor hockey. (Or I did in high school. Heh.) 19) I love dinosaurs! I had the typical childhood love, but that also grew into an adult fascination. Part of me wonders if I shouldn't have gone into paleontology. 20) I love museums and working in one is my goal. I'd prefer a natural history or science museum. Or an art museum, but one that has Greek and/or Egyptian art. 21) I consider the final doll of my childhood collection to be Jasmine from Mattel's 1992 Aladdin line. The first doll of my adult collection was 1999's Generation Girl Dance Party Lara. I bought the Bandai America 1995 Sailor Moon dolls, but I don't consider them to be the start of my adult doll collection. I was a huge fan of the show and bought the dolls for that reason. They didn't spark me to start looking at dolls in stores again. Same with the Jem dolls I picked up around 1998 or so. I was just buying them because I got obsessed with Jem again during that time. I was more into action figures and comics, but when I saw Lara, I got into dolls again. Tori and Chelsie were bought soon after and then came the hunt for Mari. 22) I love historical things and wish there were more historical dolls. I wish they'd bring back the Girls of Many Lands line or do cute stuff like the It's A Small World dolls. 23) I saw some lip gloss at Toys R Us and they were in the shape of girls (had girl heads and stuff) and it's driving me nuts that I can't remember the name of the line. I was going to get the grape one, but the cashiers were being dumb, so I left without buying her. I'm going back for one next week. I love lip gloss and win win if I get to keep the container as a decoration. 24) I've been wearing the same style makeup since...1998? Or so. I use black eyeliner and a very dark gray eyeshadow for daily wear. For special occasions, I'll add a burgundy liquid gloss or burgundy or dark purple lipstick. 25) Ah! The last one. Um...I'm happy here with Mom and the dogs, but I miss living in the city. I'm a total city girl!
