Inspired title from trying to find something to do whilst waiting for a phone call! I've also been very impressed by those folk doing 366's this year - who come up with clever and creative ideas too! View On Black It was one of those mornings when I was ahead of schedule and couldn't get started on anything big as I had a call in 30 minutes! So I remembered an article I'd torn out of a Camera magazine last night about making CD Rainbows! Figuring as it was down as an "EASY" task and only requiring 15 minutes to perfect the technique - how hard could it be! Hmm 15 minutes my arse! First of all lens selection - 50mm prime - nope too close! Then ah ha I have a Tamron AF 70-300mm Tele Macro LD Di thingy! So put's that on and then starts moving me chair back! Well I was nearly out of me office at this rate! Switch the Macro bit off and try again! Well then you notice the dust! [email protected]@k! Out comes the Lee Filter Cleaning solution - anti static! Then gently put the water on, bugger big drop! ah [email protected]@k it! So after much swearing and moving around I managed to get a shot and then made my call! In summary it needs more than 15 mins and not an "EASY" task I think! ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Set Up As Follows: 1 x Chair 1 x 2013 Black A4 Diary as base placed on chair 1 x CD - cleaned with Lee Filter Anti Static Stuff Water Droplets applied by dipping the end of a pen into water and then dropping onto CD Blinds Closed Lights Off Camera Tripod Remoter Shutter Release Manual Mode Torch Black T Shirts to prevent reflection from white A4 folders on shelf! Place the CD on a black background (A4 2013 Diary!) and then drop water onto CD. Use a tripod and shutter release as you need to be f16 and on 10 second shot here. Lock the focus and then open the shutter and use a torch to help light the spectrum! Review image, swear and repeat above steps! Image processed from RAW in lightroom 4 added punch, sharpened, increased contrast and clarity. Exported to Photoshop Elements 9 - cropped in, cloned out dust! Added borders and logo! Add to abstract images that will never been done again as it's a pain! ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Camera Nikon D80 Lens Tamron 70-300mm f/4-5.6 Di LD Macro Exposure 10 Aperture f/16.0 Focal Length 300 mm ISO Speed 100 Redsnapper RS-283 Tripod Manfrotto 494RC2 Ball Head Cable Shutter Release RAW File Processed in Adobe Lightroom 4 Border & Logo added in Photoshop Elements 9 ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Follow on: Facebook / Website / Twitter © 2013 Photography By Urban Eyes & Allan England We take the theft of our original work very seriously and would draw to your attention it is protected under UK copyright law.
