All Saints, Bennington, Lincolnshire Externally an impressive church thanks to the use of ashlar facing. Declared redundant in the 1990s, the nave has been converted into a community facility for events and functions, the chancel preserved as a smaller church into which the remarkably good 15th Century font has been moved. The great surprise of the chancel is a series of great springings along the north and south walls, showing that it was intended to be vaulted in stone. Pevsner suggests that the vaulting was never actually built beyond these springings. Remains of 15th Century angels holding shields line the nave roof, some retaining their original wings.
