These decorations are on my Christmas tree and are some from when my children were little. Each year they could pick out a decoration to place on the tree. I am finding it difficult to get into the Christmas spirit after all the turmoil of the last few days, but I know as it gets closer, I will join in the excitement that my grandchildren are feeling. I saw a quote yesterday and I think it sums up the way I feel about all the emotions that are running high at the moment - "Patriotism is not racism". My daughter said to me the other day before all this happened, that her children have never known a world without the fear of terrorism. Her eldest was born in April, 2000 and was only a toddler when his sister was born sleeping two weeks before September 11th (a very sad time). Her other three were born since September 11th and it is true, they have never seen the world as my generation or my children's generation have - carefree and peaceful. Hopefully one day peace will reign again, but I fear not. #392 on Explore on 16th December, 2014
