Nov. 20, 2008 until June 12, 2019 We said goodbye to our sweet golden retriever early this afternoon. We were able to be with and close to him as he peacefully left us. This was a very sweet guy who spent a lot of time with me in my office and had a unique and effective role in calming me down when I was tearing into a numbskull on the phone from any number of places ... he could step right in front of me, lean on me, look up and spirit me away from the problems. I never before had a dog who could do that. Right now, his doodle brother Tucker won't budge from the kitchen door, waiting for his pal to return. That will be difficult. But we knew we were at the end -- I think Noah even knew it -- and we have great memories. He has written himself indelibly, prominently, into the history of our lives. I want to share with you a particularly cute video of Noah during the winter of 2013 at our previous house during a heavy snow. This guy knew how to live. The dog barking in the background is Jack, our border collie/briard mix, who we lost in 2016. www.flickr.com/photos/[email protected]/32781335866/in/photoli...
