October 11, 2017 in 2nd floor Newsroom The library’s artist-in-residence, whose works are on display on the second floor, discussed his work and its relationship to feminism. Veloux is a Princeton-based artist who uses Lego pieces to create artwork that includes three-dimensional portraits of iconic women, including Jane Fonda, Lady Gaga, Michelle Obama and Ruth Bader Ginsburg. Veloux’s The Mask of Femininity: Feminist Portraits will be up through January 5, 2018 and during the fall he will be conducting a hands-on workshop for children, sponsoring a competition and spending several Sunday afternoons working on a new piece in our front lobby. While he is at work in our lobby, he will welcome questions from the public. Co-sponsored by the library and the Arts Council of Princeton.
